1. My name is Yared Belete. I am a junior majoring in Communication Design.
2. I originally studied architecture before switching to Communication Design. Most of my experience is with branding, typography, posters, and print-based design. I took this class because I want to learn how to bring my design ideas into digital and interactive spaces.
3. I have very limited experience with HTML and CSS and almost no experience with JavaScript. I understand some of the basics, but I am still pretty new to coding websites.
4. I hope to learn how to take a visual idea or layout I design and actually turn it into a functioning website.
5. I think designing for screen will be different because the design is not fixed. You have to think about different screen sizes, scrolling, interaction, movement, and how the user navigates through the design.
6. A24 I think A24 exemplifies effective design because the website has a strong visual identity and uses typography, imagery, and spacing in a way that feels intentional without being overwhelming.
7. The New York Times I think The New York Times exemplifies effective communication because it organizes a large amount of information while still creating a clear hierarchy.
8. Airbnb I think Airbnb works well because it makes the main actions easy to understand. Searching for a location, choosing dates, filtering results, and comparing places all feel intuitive.
